Mankind? Won't You Join The Army Shirt honors the legendary New Haven Connecticut anarcho-hardcore punk band Mankind? and their iconic 1993 debut EP "Won't You Join The Army Now So You Can Fight... And You Can Die!" - one of THE most important documents of early 90s US anarcho-punk. This Mankind? shirt celebrates the band that was vital to the early/mid 90s American anarcho-punk scene, featuring vocalist Picasso (also responsible for the band's iconic artwork), vocalist Stacey, guitarist Rick Abbott, bassist Al Ouimet, and drummer Donn II/Jeff Wilcox. Active from 1993 to 1995, Mankind? played a layered approach based on the fundamentals of peace punk with the aggression of straight-forward hardcore punk - DIY political hardcore with UK82 influences mixed with US anarcho fury. Members later joined other essential bands of the 90s/2000s US political punk scene including The Pist, Aus-Rotten, Behind Enemy Lines, Calloused, Caustic Christ, Broken, and React. Stacey later joined Dirt for their European tour. Essential shirt for fans of US anarcho-punk, 90s American hardcore, peace punk, political hardcore, and the foundational early/mid 90s US anarcho underground alongside Aus-Rotten, The Pist, Dirt, Final Warning, and the wider international anarcho-punk scene.
